Meet The Speakers

  • Natalie Madeira Cofield has provided some of the nation’s most prominent CEOs of billion-dollar organizations, executives of global brands, senior advisors to the White House, mayors of leading national cities, and community activists and leaders with inspiration, insight, and advisement. She was named by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of the 100 Most Powerful Women in Business in 2019 and selected among 137 cover-story business leaders and entrepreneurs from across the nation for her response to COVID-19 in the magazine’s most recent Entrepreneur Magazine July/August 2020 edition cover.
  • Dr.Tyrone McKinley Freeman is an award-winning scholar and teacher who serves as Assistant Professor of Philanthropic Studies and Director of Undergraduate Programs at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. His research focuses on the history of African American philanthropy, philanthropy in communities of color, the history of American philanthropy, and philanthropy and fundraising in higher education. His work has appeared or been cited in O: The Oprah Magazine, USA Today, TIME, Harvard Business Review, Stanford Social Innovation Review, NewsOne, Blavity, The Conversation, Black Perspectives, Philanthropy Women, Chronicle of Philanthropy, and Advancing Philanthropy.  
  • Utilizing decades of experience in marketing, public relations, and strategic communication, Denise Herd launched Herd Strategies, a full-service public relations firm, in 2011.  Since entering the market, Herd Strategies has developed a reputation for being the go-to firm for companies or individuals looking for innovative marketing, public relations, creative design, or community outreach strategies that will separate them from the competition. Outside of the business, Denise is a highly sought-after public speaker and workshop facilitator. She is passionate about developing businesses and is a certified facilitator of the Kauffman Foundation FastTrac New Venture program guiding startup entrepreneurs through all phases of business ownership. Denise is the recipient of numerous awards including the Indianapolis Business Journal Women of Influence, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
