Joi Jackson: A veteran hospitality and service professional, Joi Jackson has over a decade of experience in customer service, lifestyle management, event planning and business development. Before starting her own business, she held several management positions with various 4-Star Hotels some of which include Loews Hotels, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and Starwood Hotels in Washington, DC and Atlanta, GA.
Melanie Barber: Melanie offers her vast experience in developing brand strategies, event planning and marketing objectives, as well as overseeing collateral development. Her marketing and creative experience has been instrumental in developing an international client roster for ENJOI Concierge Group.

What has been the biggest inspiration behind your career?
JJ: I am inspired by watching my clients visions come to life. To be able to see how my business impacts someone else’s life is very rewarding for me. After working in the hospitality industry for many years and developing personal and professional relationships I am grateful that our business has been so well received throughout our city.
MB: I am inspired by the partnership my business partner and I have created. For two people in two different idustires to come together and build a foundation to help other people keeps me driven. I am so motivated by our growth and I am appreciating this entire process.
One professional thing you would you change about your career in your twenties, if anything?
We both strongly believe in growth as well as change and we can honestly say that through our experiences we would not have changed a thing. Each mistake was a learning lesson and each obstacle made us stronger. If we had to do it all over again the one thing we may have changed was not starting ENJOI Concierge Group earlier.

During the process of building our business, we knew that as women we would face challenges and have obstacles; however, we have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to surround ourselves with other powerful influential women of color. It’s also refreshing to know that we live in a city that embraces entrepreneurship. As women of color in business we believe that is imperative that we support each other and help continue to build more businesses run by women.
What woman of color serves as your greatest source of inspiration today?
Risa Lavizzo- Mourey who is the President of The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and of course Oprah Winfrey.
