NeNe Leakes to Return to RHOA For a Record $2 Million

Television personality and fan favorite, NeNe Leakes, will be returning to Real Housewives of Atlanta after her two season hiatus. After a three-month negotiation, Leaks’ return comes with $2 million from Bravo as well as preferential treatment for scheduling filming, according to a production insider. This deal makes NeNe Leakes the highest paid cast member in the entire franchise.

Previously, that title belonged to Bethenny Frankel of Real Housewives of New York. Frankel is also the first to leave and return to the series and she’s reportedly very unhappy with both Bravo and Leakes.

An inside source claims, “Bethenny saw reports about what Nene is getting and is livid.”

Aside from seven figure Bravo paychecks, both women have various business ventures. Frankel founded Skinnygirl Cocktails while Leakes has designed her own fashion line, worked as an author, and appeared on other television shows.

Throughout her break from Real Housewives of Atlanta, Leakes briefly moved to the Hollywood Hills to work on a sitcom. She’s become such a notable pop culture icon that an image of her can be found in the National Museum of African-American History and Culture.

Thanks to her original appearances on the Bravo reality show, NeNe Leakes has been able to build a strong brand and fan base that have helped her catapult her career into various industries. Now that she’s returning to RHOA it’s no surprise that the network is willing to pay this businesswoman, actress, and TV for her proven star-power.
