We concluded Women’s History Month and sprung into April with celebrating the important role of mentorship for professional, enterprising multicultural women.
Last week, we concluded our national #MeetYourMatch event series which brought over 40 business mentors in Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, and New York together to mentor and help our promising network of multicultural women learn and grow.
A recent study shows us that multicultural women face a higher level of negative stereotyping, limiting their access to career and entrepreneurial. Of those women, more than half (62%) cited the lack of an influential mentor or sponsor as a barrier to professional growth.
With #MeetYourMatch we helped to combat this disparity by pairing hundreds of women with mentors from organizations such as the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, Entertainment One, Teach for America, and Nightlight Pediatric Urgent Care among others.
