Walker’s Legacy presented its national ‘Women of Color in Tech’ event in Atlanta powered by Comcast. In partnership with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and the U.S. Minority Business Development Agency, the event showcased multicultural women in technology while exploring opportunities for minority women entrepreneurs to grow their entrepreneurial endeavors.
According to The Muse, only 28% of software jobs and 25% of IT jobs are held by women. Even more shockingly, women hold only 11% of executive positions in Silicon Valley; and own only 5% of startups. Those numbers dwindle even lower when it comes to women of color.
