The B-Attitude for Business Growth

Over the years, I have met many business owners through mentoring and coaching programs. It has been my joy to help some get on the right track with their business growth and I am proud every time I read or hear about the successes of those who have crossed my path.

One of the most important tools I continue to share is having the right attitude about growing a business. Understanding there is a process to achieve progress is essential and your attitude about working with a well-designed plan of action makes a tremendous difference in the outcome.

Whether a new or existing business, here are a few pointers that may change your attitude about future and help you on your success track. Be Precise in your planning. Know exactly what you want and the actions you will need in order to execute the plans. Make sure you can answer any questions about your business whether you are in an informal setting or rendering a business presentation. A person who knows their business is a person destined to succeed. Be Specific with your facts. You should know what you are asking for down to the smallest details. If you are seeking clients or customers to use your services, you have to know your product or service and the market. When asking for financial support, you will need details that show exactly what you want and how you will pay it back. Always know the facts about your business.

Be Proactive in making things happen. One of my favorite lines, “Don’t wait for something to happen to you. Go out and make something happen for you.” Always be ahead of the game. Look for new opportunities and new ways to showcase and improve your business. Identify potential problems that could be a set-back. Be proactive about the things you care about. Your business is your lifeline, so make every effort to be proactive in growing it.

Be Bold! The most exciting thing about a business is the fact that you started it. That was a bold step in itself. The same boldness it took for you to start your business is the same attitude you will need to grow your business. Practice your elevator speech in a mirror. Make a point to introduce yourself in a way that attracts interest in you and your business. Here’s a tip, “Always be selling.” Be Patient with your progression. In business there are good and bad days, profits and losses, successes and failures. Chances are if you are a growing business, you will have experienced these ups and downs. When you remain faithful and persistent, you will see the fruits of your labor. In short, you always have to be on your B Attitude track. If your attitude is one of gratitude you can go a long way.
