Walker’s Legacy City Directors Launched in Nine Cities Nationwide

Walker’s Legacy has launched nine (9) local chapters across the country with the expansion of its National City Directors that work to implement the Walker’s Legacy mission to engage, inspire, and equip professional and entrepreneurial multicultural women in their local areas. Cities include Baton Rouge, Chicago, Durham, Greenville (SC), Jacksonville (FL), Los Angeles, New York, Newark, and Washington, DC.

“Walker’s Legacy understands that the power of our organization comes from the power of the community that we work hard to build every day,” said Natalie Madeira Cofield, Founder & CEO of Walker’s Legacy.  “Extending our programming to local markets provides an opportunity to take our digital engagement offline through meaningful programming and encourages the development of local ecosystems of support that are critical to the women we support.”

City Directors were selected from a national call that garnered a pool of more than 300 talented applicants. City Directors work to implement the Walker’s Legacy mission in their local business communities through impactful in-person programming, organizational collaboration, and partnerships.

The 2020 National Walker’s Legacy City Director leadership includes:

Chisolu Isiadinso Baton Rouge, LA
Monica Abernathy Chicago, IL
LaTasha Best-Gaddy Durham, NC
Dr. Nika White Greenville, SC

Chapters launched  across the country last month with featured remarks, networking, a fireside chat with leading executives and businesswomen, and a meet-and-greet with members from the national team.

“I am so proud, humbled, and completely blessed to have been able to participate and witness the first nine City Director Chapter Launches that took place across the nation—from DC to LA,” said Gaybrielle LeAnn Gant, Director of Communities and Events leading the City Directors initiative. “I have absolutely loved getting to see each of our City Directors in action, meet the members of their communities and watch them and their tribes at work to advance the mission of Walker’s Legacy. This past month has been a true testament to the power of collaboration among multicultural women and sisterhood—I can’t think of a more fulfilling space.”
