Walker’s Legacy has been named as one of the supporting partners in the newly announced Goldman Sachs “One Million Black Women” Initiative.
We are proud to announce a partnership with Goldman Sachs on the “One Million Black Women” Initiative. The multinational investment bank and financial services company will allocate $10-billion to support Black women over the next 10 years, focusing on areas including healthcare, job creation, and education.
“Walker’s Legacy is honored to be a part of this historic commitment to equip and provide Black women with resources to help them advance. We look forward to amplifying this initiative and helping Black Women access the tools needed to reach financial freedom,” said Ayris T. Scales, Managing Director of Walker’s Legacy.
The “One Million Black Women” initiative will commit $10-billion in direct investment capital to Black women to combat the dual disproportionate gender and racial biases that Black women have faced for generations, which have been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are joining a host of other Black-women led organizations such as:
- Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated
- Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated
- Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated
- Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated
- The Links, Incorporated
- Power Rising
- The National Coalition on Black Civic Participation
- Black Women’s Roundtable
- The National Council of Negro Women
- Sistahs in Business Expo
This collaborative effort will be crucial in bringing awareness to the fastest-growing population of entrepreneurs: Black women entrepreneurs. We will host a series of listening sessions with the goal to increase awareness of the “One Million Black Women” Initiative and solicit feedback directly from Black women who will benefit from the program.
