Women Owned Businesses Growing with Stagnant Market Power

Recent studies have shown that businesses created by women of color are growing at a faster rate than their male counterparts. However, it has also been shown that female entrepreneurs are less likely to be employers. It appears that although our entrepreneurial market share is growing, our power in business is growing much slower or not all. This may be due to a large proportion of minority-female owned businesses being sole proprietorships. Therefore, less revenue may be produced which leads to a smaller economic impact.
