Volunteers Needed: Walker’s Legacy Annual Women in Business and Civic Leadership Program and Reception

Join prominent women from throughout the nation for our 4th Annual Women in Business and Civic Leadership Program and Reception Powered by Google.

We are proud to host our annual event in partnership with Google on Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 3-7:30pm in Washington, DC. Complete with expert-led discussions, panels, and networking opportunities, our annual program is sure to acknowledge and celebrate women’s power and influence in our communities.

Confirmed Speakers include:

  • Courtney Snowden, Washington DC Deputy Mayor for Greater Economic Opportunity
  • Jewel Burks, Founder and CEO, Partpic, Inc. and Entrepreneur-in-Residence, Google
  • A’Leila Bundles, Descendent of Madam C.J. Walker, Historian, Biographer, and Author
  • Theia Washington, Executive Director at The City of Atlanta’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative (WEI)
  • Aisha Glover, Acting EVP and Chief Business Officer, City of Newark New Jersey and the Newark Community Economic Development Corporation

We are seeking volunteers to assist in the overall event production which includes greeting and registering our guests, event set-up and breakdown, drafting live social media,  and working alongside the Walker’s Legacy Team to complete various tasks throughout the afternoon.
