WALKER’S LEGACY AND NRF FOUNDATION PRESENT BE AN INNOVATOR: RETAIL ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM
Organizations collaborate to educate university students on entrepreneurship opportunities within the retail industry.
Washington, DC—January 12, 2021—Walker’s Legacy and the NRF Foundation are excited to partner to present the “Be An Innovator: Retail Entrepreneurship Program” for university students. This six-week program, made possible by American Express, is designed to provide undergraduate women of color with the keys to success and knowledge to thrive as retail entrepreneurs.
The Walker’s Legacy and NRF Foundation “Be An Innovator” program is scheduled for Saturdays starting March 6 and running through April 17. It will provide a deeper exploration experience for students to learn alongside a national cohort about how to succeed and thrive as an entrepreneur in the retail industry.
“Starting off in entrepreneurship can sometimes be intimidating, and we are more than excited to team up with the NRF Foundation to give students the confidence to pursue their dreams in starting their own business.” said Natalie Madeira Cofield, founder and CEO of Walker’s Legacy. “We look forward to supporting women from the nation’s most prestigious universities to navigate, best prepare and gain inspiration and insight on entrepreneurship.”
This six-week program will be instructed by Jasmine Snead, a co-founder of Aurora Tights, an athletic apparel brand for performers in all shades and sizes. She is the Rudy Award: Student Entrepreneur of the Year, one of DC Inno’s “25 Under 25” and a Prince George’s County 2020 “40 Under 40” awardee.
