New York, NY—Walker’s Legacy, a digital platform for the professional and entrepreneurial multicultural woman, has announced Brendez Wineglass as its new city director for New York, NY.
A native New Yorker and Howard University graduate, Wineglass is a dedicated and proven leader with professional experience across the healthcare, tech, media, arts, and non-for profit industries. She is the Founder of Power Social Events, a networking dinner series with the purpose of encouraging intergenerational conversation and effective networking. Brendez was trusted by the Center’s Senior Executive and Executive teams to revise hospital policies, implementing effective healthcare practices to improve the overall quality of the hospital. Since 2016, Wineglass has been leading communities of Caribbean and Multicultural descent to one of strength and stability through several impressive initiatives.
Wineglass serves as the Vice-Chair to the Board of Directors for Community Mediation Services of NYC, is an executive board member of the Howard University Alumni Club of Greater New York , She is a 2018 Art Commissioning Producer with the Queens Council, a 2018 Innovative Cultural Fellow, and a member of influential organizations such as For(bes) The Culture, Google Partners, BWOI (Black Women of Influence), ColorComm, Silicon Harlem, and Black Tech Women. She has been a thought leader and advocates in the areas of civic engagement, art & culture, economic prosperity, entrepreneurship, leadership & development, health, and technology.

Brendez Wineglass is one of ten (10) Walker’s Legacy City Directors selected from a national call which garnered a pool of more than 100 talented applicants. Selected leaders will aid in furthering the Walker’s Legacy mission in their local business communities through impactful in-person programming and local engagement.
In recognition of March, Women’s History Month, national Walker’s Legacy City Directors will host Meet Your Match, a mentor matchmaking event. This national programming promotes direct networking, mentorship, and engagement with successful business leaders hosted in partnership with SCORE, the nation’s largest network of expert business mentors, with more than 10,000 volunteers in 300 chapters.
