Success Profile: Priestley M. Johnson, Program Associate at Walker’s Legacy Foundation

In this installment, meet Priestley M. Johnson, Program Associate at Walker’s Legacy Foundation!  

Priestley M. Johnson is the Program Associate at Walker’s Legacy Foundation, a business collective for women of color. With experience in the White House Council on Women and Girls, the U.S. House of Representatives, and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Priestley has valuable skills unique to the fast-paced intergovernmental affairs, program development, and communications fields.

Graduating Magna Cum Laude in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration, Priestley made the most of her time at Howard University in Washington, D.C. She was a recipient of the Riversville Foundation Scholarship distributed by the United Negro College Foundation. During school, she gained experience in South Africa working as a Fellow with the Young AfricanA Leadership Initiative, researching and conducting a comparative analysis of the common issues of women. A member of Sigma Alpha Pi and Pi Sigma Alpha, Priestley has shown academic excellence in addition to being an example for serving the community by volunteering for Howard University as Student Ambassador and Alternative Spring Break. As a recent graduate, she aspires to inspire others.

Priestley Johnson hails from Hartford, CT. As a motivated professional, her goal is to become an influential woman and change agent able to bring others up as she climbs.

The mission of the Walker’s Legacy Foundation is to provide a foundation of entrepreneurial, financial and professional support to improve the economic equality and entrepreneurial prosperity of women. The Walker’s Legacy Foundation is a project of the Washington Association of Regional Grantmakers.
