Tamron Hall to Star in Her Own Daytime Talk Show

It was announced last week that former Today Show co-host, Tamron Hall, is partnering with Weinstein Television to create a daytime talk show.

The show will be a daily series shot in front of a live studio audience and feature current events, human-interest stories, and interviews with both celebrities and newsmakers. In addition to starring in the series, Hall will co-create and executive produce. No network is attached to the currently untitled show yet, but former NBC Domestic Television Distribution President, Barry Wallach, will consult.

Just six months ago, the future seemed unsure for Hall when she left her NBC positions on The Today Show and MSNBC Live Today With Tamron Hall.

In April, NBC‘s News President, Noah Oppenheim, told The Hollywood Reporter, “I very much hoped that Tamron would remain with NBC News. We made her an offer that I think reflected our strong desire that she be part of our family moving forward, that would have given her a very prominent and substantive role here at the network. We were obviously disappointed that she chose to pursue her future elsewhere, and we wish her only the best.”

A month later, Hall signed William Morris Endeavor Entertainment who represented her in negotiations of her deal with Weinstein Television. This partnership will be The Weinstein Co.’s first unscripted venture.

“I’ve been working toward developing a talk show for a long time, but needed to make sure I did it the right way and with the right person to take the lead. Tamron is far and away that person,” Harvey Weinstein, TWC co-chairman, said in a statement.

“She’s an exceptionally talented journalist whose interviews masterfully walk the line between entertainment and hard-hitting. We couldn’t be more thrilled to begin this new venture with her.”

TWC and Hall will also be collaborating on other unscripted ventures. Despite her departure from NBC which left fans unsure what was next for Hall, it seems that her upcoming ventures will have Hall back on television in the near future.
