13 Girls Participate in Spring 2021 Girls Who Enterprise Cohort

Walker’s Legacy and Malcolm Shabazz High School is proud to announce our first Girls Who Enterprise cohort of 2021, which began Saturday, April 24th

Girls Who Enterprise: A four-week entrepreneurship boot camp is an accelerated business development training program designed for multicultural young women in the age range of 12-17 that utilizes an original curriculum, a cohort model, and a structured learning environment to aid established business owners in advancing their business operations.

Participant entrepreneurs partner and learn from industry leaders and peer entrepreneurs. Through participation, girls can develop the important resources, skills, and networks needed to successfully build and maintain a prosperous business.

Our participants will master several areas such as pitching & raising funds, financial literacy for startups, establishing your culture and building a team, goals & milestones, and more that will help them thrive within their small businesses with the help of their instructor, Maria Ortiz, Assistant Superintendent at Newark Board of Education based in Newark, New Jersey.
