Nominations Now Open | Walker’s Legacy Power Women 2018 Power Awards

Walker’s Legacy is proud to celebrate multicultural women in business and entrepreneurship with our annual Walker’s Legacy Power Awards.

Nominations are now open for this national recognition of notable women in business. Recipients may be leaders representing industries including, but not limited to, social entrepreneurship, business, technology, media, and real estate among others.

Past award recipients include Keisha Lance Bottoms, Mayor of the City of Atlanta, GA; Latanya Mapp Frett, Executive Director of Planned Parenthood Global; Tiffany Smith-Anoa’i, Executive Vice President of Entertainment Diversity, Inclusion, and Communications at CBS Entertainment; and Miko Branch, co-founder of Miss Jessie’s, among other notable honorees.

Submissions are open for women in geographical areas of Atlanta, Chicago, Charlotte, Detroit, Dallas, Houston, New York, Miami, Philadelphia, Washington, DC.

If you know a power woman deserving of recognition, we encourage you to nominate her for an award in her local community by July 31, 2018.

Honorees and supporters will be invited to attend their local Walker’s Legacy Power Awards Receptions to accept their awards.

The national celebration of all Power Honorees will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018, in Washington, DC during the Walker’s Legacy national business summit.

 Eligibility Restrictions and Additional Information:
Walker’s Legacy celebrates diversity and encourages submission by all individuals regardless of their sexual orientation, religious affiliation or race/ethnicity. Nominees from all industries are eligible for consideration.
Nominees who are located within a sixty (60) mile geographical radius of identified cities are eligible for inclusion. Nominees who have been recognized within the last year by the Power Awards or Women in Civic Leadership Awards do not qualify for inclusion.
Due to the high volume of submissions, nominators will not be notified of the status of their nominations. Honorees will be contacted directly with additional information followed by a public announcement in August 2018. Those selected will be honored locally as well as nationally at the national Power Awards reception on November 15, 2018, in Washington, DC.
