St. Louis, MO (March 29, 2016) – On March 26, Walker’s Legacy, a growing global women in business collective named in honor of Madam C. J. Walker, celebrated Women’s History Month before a sold-out audience at Arch Business Expo in St. Louis.
The organization, founded by entrepreneur Natalie Madeira Cofield, was established to create support networks for professional and enterprising women of color hosted established and emerging leaders from St. Louis’ multicultural women in business community for its Local Women in Leadership Brunch. The program featured remarks from Dr. Rhonda Carter Adams, Mid-states Minority Supplier Development Council and Nicole Roach, AVP or Diversity & Inclusion at Webster University.
Economic census reports released by the Minority Business Development Agency have recognized that minority business women served as the fastest growing entrepreneurial segments in the nation with the largest percentage of growth achieved by African American and Hispanic women entrepreneurs.
Walker’s Legacy St. Louis is one of twenty cities where Walker’s Legacy operates domestically and is led by Tamiko Cuellar, Founder of Pursue your Purpose.
The organization’s next program will be held on May 5th, 2016 during National Small Business Week.
