Walker’s Legacy And Gates Foundation Launch First COVID-19 Impact Study Led by Women of Color Entrepreneurs
Walker’s Legacy in partnership with Gates Foundation launches COVID-19 Impact Research Study to best identify the way forward for women entrepreneurs of color negatively impacted by the pandemic.
Washington, DC—November 12, 2020—Walker’s Legacy, the largest digital platform for multicultural women in business, has partnered with Gates Foundation to study the impact of COVID-19 on women entrepreneurs of color and the long-term implications for measurable change. The study will be released today, November 12th, in the wake of the historical Presidential Election results announcement.
“The global impacts of COVID-19 are undeniable,” said Natalie Madeira Cofield, Founder & CEO of Walker’s Legacy. As small businesses across the nation work to understand the short and long-term implications on business operations, Walker’s Legacy is determined to provide a voice for the fastest growing entrepreneurial segment in the nation: multicultural women in business.”
This is the only COVID-19 impact study designed by minority women entrepreneurs who understand the unique position faced by this demographic. Walker’s Legacy’s 15-city national footprint includes city chapters in our largest and most diverse regions such as New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and Chicago.
The timing and need for this study cannot be more critical as decision-makers seek information to best identify the way forward. Women entrepreneurs of color will speak, be heard, and have a seat at the table.
- This is the only national COVID-19 impact study informed, designed, and led by minority women entrepreneurs who understand the unique position faced by this demographic.
- We are in the wake of a historic Presidential election that will shape future policy and the impacts on minority women entrepreneurs must be measured and communicated to our leaders in a meaningful, sustainable way.
- This study aims to identify and address gaps in existing COVID-19 survey data. We intend to ask and answer the questions that are most important to the survival of this largest growing entrepreneurial segment.
