Walker’s Legacy Awarded $150,000 Black-Owned Business PayPal Grant

Walker’s Legacy, the largest digital platform for multicultural women in business, is pleased to announce that PayPal has selected the organization to receive a grant of $150,000.

As part of PayPal’s $530M commitment to support Black and minority-owned communities in the U.S. – announced earlier this year – the company provided $5M in grants to local community partners, like ourselves, to help empower Black business owners and speed their recovery from the pandemic.

This is the second grant awarded to Walker’s Legacy, following an initial grant award of up to $500,000 in June. The grant is part of PayPal’s $530 million commitment to support Black-owned businesses, strengthen minority communities, and fight for racial equity and economic equality.

“COVID-19 has shown us how vulnerable our economy can be, this is particularly applicable to Black-owned businesses,” said Natalie Madeira Cofield, Founder & CEO of Walker’s Legacy. Walker’s Legacy is proud to partner with PayPal, in their demonstrated commitment to ensuring that Black women-owned firms succeed in developing programming to support Black women-owned businesses.”

Walker’s Legacy will use the funds to continue the important work supporting, engaging, and uplifting the fastest growing demographic of entrepreneurs: Black women.
